Monogram Logo and Surface Design Tessellation

Image
While I was making the tessellation design I wasn’t sure which order to place the colours so I made two versions with the colours flipped to see. I ended up going with the one with a white background because the I liked how it can make the ‘S’ look like an odd shadow or a wave.

Out of all my sketches, I personally enjoy numbers 4, 6, and 8, for different reasons. I like number 4 because of the stark contrast between between the large, bold A and the smaller, differently styled S.  on the other hand, I like number 6 because the design mimics a paintbrush (A), leaving a trail of paint (S), making it not only show my initials but also a reference to artistic intrests. Finally, number 8 appeals to me just because the overall design seems elegant and simple.
